Women’s Soccer to face the Naval Academy

LEXINGTON, Va. – The VMI women's soccer team will play host to the Naval Academy Sunday afternoon in what has been tabbed as this season's Military Appreciation Game.
 
The Keydets (0-5-1) and Midshipmen (5-2-1) will square off Sunday at 1 p.m. at Patchin Field.

VMI looks to bounce back from a loss to Elon Thursday afternoon and resume the momentum found when the Keydets earned a result in a 1-1 tie with Gardner-Webb last Sunday.
 
The Midshipmen are coming off a 5-0 victory at Radford Thursday night and currently riding a four-game winning streak including wins over Marywood, Maryland, Marist and Radford.  Navy opened the season with a win over Robert Morris before falling to Rice and Air Force. They also had a 1-1 tie with Delaware back on August 23.
 
Five different Middies lead the team in points with six apiece including Kayana Adlam, Jessica Black, Chiara Cosenza, Faith Graziano and Katia Katsari-Hoefer. Black and Katsari-Hoefer lead the squad with three goals each.
