Strength & Conditioning

The VMI Strength and Conditioning staff is responsible for the design and implementation of sports-specific strength and conditioning programs for all of the Institute's 18 NCAA athletic teams. In cooperation with the sports coaches, they assist in the cadet-athletes' athletic development, overall conditioning, and injury prevention.

NCAA Olympic Sports athletic teams train in Cormack Hall. The training facility is over 9,000 square feet in size and features a warm-up and agility area, which includes a ten-lane straight-away track. There are 18 fully outfitted power racks with inlaid platforms. The room also includes two dumbbell stations, up to 120lbs, and a variety of selectorized machines.

The VMI Football team trains in the Luck Weight Room, located in Clarkson-McKenna Hall, and made possible by the Charles S. Luck family. This weight room is over 3,200 square feet in size and includes 14-power racks with inlaid platforms, a dumbbell station up to 140 lbs, and several selectorized machines.
