BUIES CREEK, N.C.- For the second time in three outings, the VMI women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision on the road, as the Keydets fell to Campbell in Buies Creek, N.C. on Wednesday evening in non-conference action. With the loss, VMI falls to 3-2, while Campbell improves to 1-2 on the year.
The Fighting Camels' Ellen Payne scored the game's lone goal in the 58th minute, beating VMI keeper
Heidi Beemer on a shot from 30 yards out on the left flank. Beemer and fellow freshman keeper
Angela Redmond each made three saves while splitting duties between the pipes, while CU keeper Boomie Luck also made three saves to earn the shutout win.
Campbell outshot the visitors by a 14-6 margin while earning four corner kicks to VMI's zero. The Fighting Camels also were whistled for all ten of the game's offsides calls.

Alexa Bernas accounted for two of the Keydets' six shots in the game, the lone Keydet to register multiple shots. Meanwhile, Campbell's Amanda Murphy was credited with four shots to lead the hosts.
The Keydets continue their five-game road stretch on Sunday afternoon, taking on the University of Richmond at 1 p.m.
