Women’s Soccer unveils 2026 fall slate

LEXINGTON, Va. – After the recently completed spring campaign, second-year VMI Head Women's Soccer Coach Jim Robbins announced Tuesday his team's 2026 fall schedule.
 
The slate includes exciting non-conference matchups with in-state foes George Mason, Longwood and Richmond in addition to traditional regional games against Winthrop, Gardner-Webb, Elon, UNC Asheville and a return game with the United States Naval Academy.
 
The schedule is highlighted by a visit to ACC and in-state power Virginia Tech, which the Keydets will take the quick trip down I-81 to Blacksburg on August 16.
 
VMI begins the season with an exhibition at home August 9 against Radford at Patchin Field before embarking on a three-game road trip to George Mason, Virginia Tech and Winthrop.
 
The Keydets stay camped on post from August 27-September 10 to face five consecutive opponents at home when Longwood, Gardner-Webb, Elon, Navy and Richmond pay a visit to Lexington.
 
A trip to Asheville, North Carolina, on September 13 to face UNC Asheville completes the non-conference slate.
 
Southern Conference actions begins September 17 on the road to face rival The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina, before returning home to face UNCG September 20.
 
The back-and-forth conference schedule continues September 27 at Furman before returning to Lexington to face Chattanooga to begin the month of October.
 
VMI then heads to Cookeville, Tennessee on October 4 to face SoCon newcomer Tennessee Tech before consecutive league matchups with ETSU (Oct. 11) and Western Carolina on October 15.
 
After a two-game road trip to Mercer (October 18) and Wofford (October 29), the Keydets conclude the regular season at home against Samford at 2 p.m. November 1.
 
The 2026 Southern Conference Championship runs from November 5-8 for a chance to qualify for the NCAA Tournament.
