Biography

THREE-YEAR LETTERWINNER- Team Co-Captain with classmate and fellow Atlee HS alum Erin Squires...Versatile and tenacious player that could see action in a number of roles this season...Could contend for All-Conference honors this season...Already ranks second in career goals and points while holding the school records for assists (tied) and game-winning goals...Ranks as an S-6 Lieutenant in the VMI Corps of Cadets.

2006: Saw action in all 17 contests, making 15 starts...Ranked second on the team with six goals, while placing third on the squad with 13 points...Led VMI with 22 shots...Had a pair of two-goal games, scoring twice against Southern Virginia (10/10) and South Carolina State (10/22), both wins... Scored the game-winner in a 2-0 victory over The Citadel (9/1), VMI’s first win over the Bulldogs...Converted first career penalty kick against The Citadel.

2005: Had a breakout season on the attack, setting new school records with 15 goals, six assists, 36 points and five game-winners...Established numerous single-match records against West Virginia Tech by scoring four goals, three assists and 11 points...Also collected a hat trick by scoring three goals against Southern Virginia... Scored the game-winner in the Keydets’ first victory over a Division I opponent, defeating Youngstown State on 9/11...Also scored the game-winner in a 4-2 win over High Point, the team’s first Big South Conference victory...Scored a point in four consecutive games, tying a school record.

2004: Tallied her first collegiate goal against Alabama A&M on 10/10 (unassisted)... Ranked second on the team with 22 shots, half of which came on goal...Started every contest at forward.

High School: Lettered four years at Atlee High School...Played in the midfield as a freshman and sophomore, earning academic all-district honors and scoring four goals in each of those years... Moved to forward and scored 11 goals in her junior season and 24 goals as a senior... Earned first team all-district and second-team all-region accolades...Has played for four club teams, including Rio Grande (New Mexico), FC Richmond, the Richmond Strikers and the D.C. Lady Demons.

Personal: Daughter of Edward and Christie Bernas...A Chemistry major.
