Callejo, Jones named CSC Academic All-District recipients

LEXINGTON, Va. – Ambassadors to the Institute as cadet-athletes as well as exceptional members of the VMI women's soccer team, juniors Barrett Callejo and Cameron Jones have been named College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District recipients recognized by the organization Tuesday.

In order for a student-athlete to be eligible, one must have a minimum 3.50 GPA and be a significant contributor in the field of play as a sophomore or above in class standing. For soccer, an athlete must compete in at least 90 percent of the team's total contests or have started at least 66 percent of the team's total games.

It is widely regarded as one of the most stringent academic honors a collegiate student-athlete can attain in the country given its requirement for a minimum 3.5 GPA and high level of involvement and contribution to the team on the field or court of play.

A full listing of honorees nationwide can be found here.

A psychology major, Jones started all 20 games in 2025 and logged three shot attempts, two of which required a save from the opposing goalie.  The Ridgefield, Washington, native played over 1700 minutes on the pitch this past season and will be a key defender on next year's team.

Callejo played in 19 games this past season and earned 18 starts in those matches. The biology major accounted for 17 shot attempts for the season, including a season-high five against UNC Asheville on August 31.  The Springboro, Ohio, native played nearly 1200 minutes on the pitch during the year including a complete game against rival The Citadel on September 28.
