Women’s T&F earns excellent marks at VMI Invitational

LEXINGTON, Va. – Competing in a modified event due to this weekend's expected snowstorm, the VMI women's track and field team earned excellent marks Friday at the 2026 VMI Invitational at the Corps Physical Training Facility.

Originally a two-day meet, the event was pushed to one day in order to avoid the storm's arrival on Saturday.

Jillian Sisk came in first place in the mile run with a personal record time of 5:12.81 to pace the field. Teammate Reagan Gilman won the individual title in the 800 meter with a time of 2:15.36.

Excellent Marks
*Genevieve Cummings finished second in the high jump with a height of 1.55 meters
* The 4x400 relay team consisting of Gilman, Miracle Eric, Olivia Hurd and Taliyah Headman finished in fourth place
*JeNiya White came in fifth place in 8.99 seconds in the 60m hurdles while Shea Hart was close behind in 10th in 9.21 seconds. White would go on to place sixth in the finals in 8.96 seconds
*In the 200 meter, SeMore Green came in sixth in 25.10 followed by Naturale Faison in eighth in 25.21
*Sophomore Ruth Dickersheid registered in eighth place in the shot put at 10.96m. She also came in 10th in the weight throw with a new PR distance of 13.59m
*Jennifer Koumondji came in ninth place in the long jump at 5.01m
*Headman showed well in the 60m prelims with a 10th-place time of 7.83 seconds
