Women’s Track and Field closes well at John Weaver Invite

BOONE, N.C. – The VMI women's track and field team earned excellent times and finishes to close out competition on a rainy Saturday at the 2026 John Weaver Invitational hosted by App State University in Boone, North Carolina.

Sophomore Naturale Faison came in second place in the 100m preliminaries in 11.78 seconds just ahead of SeMore Green's sixth-place time of 12.08 seconds.

The 4x100 relay squad consisting of Miracle Eric, Green, JeNiya White and Faison placed fourth overall in 46.59 seconds for a strong race.

Ruth Dickersheid finished fifth in the shot put in 11.73 meters ahead of Diamond Baker's seventh-place distance of 11.52 meters. Heaven Hall also competed and finished 11th at 10.94 meters, a new personal best.

Freshman Ava Buckner came in ninth in the long jump at 4.76 meters.

Hayden Talbott came in ninth in the 800m in 2:31.44 ahead of freshman Jazmyn Mackin's time of 2:36.90 for 15th place.

Junior Evelyn Anderson registered a 1:00.16 in the 400m for 11th place.
