VMI Director of Track and Field Zack Scott
"I was really proud of the way our women competed on day one. Ruthie's big personal best in the hammer throw gave us tremendous energy to start the meet, and from there the group continued to fight for every point and every qualifying spot. We had Naturale Faison qualify in both the 100m and 200m, Reagan Gilman in the 800m and Shea Hart in the 400m hurdles step up with strong performances. That puts us in a great position heading into day two. The effort, composure, and competitiveness they showed today is exactly what championship track and field is about."
