Track and Field shows well at Big South-SoCon Challenge

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The VMI track and field teams played their part in representing the Southern Conference at the 2026 Big South-SoCon Challenge hosted by UNC Asheville in Asheville, North Carolina.

Sophomore Naturale Faison highlighted the meet for the women's team as she claimed the individual title in both the 100m dash and 200m dash with personal-record times. She earned a new PR of 11.85 seconds in the 100m and a new PR of 24.44 seconds in the 200m.

Morgan Fraser came in third in the high jump at 1.60 meters while freshman Genevieve Cummings was close behind with a fifth-place height of 1.55 meters.

Excellent Marks
*Senior Shea Hart came in fourth in the 100m hurdles in 14.56 seconds just ahead of JeNiya White's sixth-place time of 14.65 seconds, a new personal best
*White also ran the 400m hurdles and arrived in fifth place in 1:08.51
*Miracle Eric finished 10th in the 400m dash in 59.03 seconds, a new personal record time
