Renner named Assistant Coach for VMI Lacrosse

LEXINGTON, Va. – VMI Head Lacrosse Coach Taylor Mendoza announced Thursday the hiring of Dylan Renner to serve as the Defensive Coordinator of his coaching staff.
 
Since 2022, Renner has served as a Director for Goalie Corp, one of the largest lacrosse goalie training companies in Long Island, New York. In this position, he ran clinics and developed young goalies and helped them be recruited at the college level.
 
In August of 2025, he became the Director of Operations for the Checkmate Lacrosse travel team in Long Island where he was responsible for developing comprehensive schedules for all teams to optimize practice and tournament organization. He facilitated practices and tournaments by managing field operations and engaged with parents to address children's needs for an exceptional travel lacrosse experience.

An outstanding goalie at NCAA Division II national power Adelphi University, Renner earned multiple individual and team accolades during his time at the school as he helped the Panthers earn two consecutive national championships in 2024 and 2025. A four-time All-American and one of the top goalies in the country, his individual accomplishments are summarized below:

This past summer, he played goalie for the Utah Archers of the Premier Lacrosse League.
 
Renner earned a bachelor's degree in history at Adelphi University in May 2024 before achieving a master's degree in adolescent education from Adelphi in December 2025.
