LEXINGTON, Va. – VMI Swimming & Diving dives back into Goodall Pool this week, hosting Saint Francis (women only) and Howard on Friday, starting at 2 p.m.
The Keydets welcome the Red Flash and Bison for their first home meet since October 25 and their first time competing in 2026. The men and women have faced Howard already this season in a tri-meet, with the men earning a dominating 201-98 victory while the women posted their second 100-point outing of the year.
The VMI men look to pick up where they left off at the Keydet Invite. The Keydets eclipsed 1,000 points during the three-day event, en route to first place among eight different teams, and were 130 points ahead of second place. VMI broke 11 records during the invitational, five coming from freshman
Ian Lutz, who owns the records for the 50 Free (Rat and team), 100 Free (Rat), and 100 Fly (Rat and Team).
On the women's side, the Keydets broke 15 records during the Keydet Invite, including six first-place marks, for 635.50 points, good enough for second place. Senior
Noelle Tong has been on fire as of late, scoring three podium finishes during the invite, including a record-breaking first-place mark in the 100 Free. In just three days, 12 records were demolished by freshmen, with
Carissa Witte and
Avery Shuping each owning four,
Lacy Delzell claiming two, and
Maddie Wolfe and
Nicole Segler breaking one record each.
Howard's men enter the meet 1-5 overall, while the women stand 2-4 after both fell to Towson on Wednesday. With Saint Francis' men's team debuting in 2026-27, only the women's team will compete on Friday. The Red Flash are a perfect 4-0 after taking down Millersville, LIU, Manhattan, and Lock Haven, scoring no less than 130 points in each outing.
