Men’s Cross Country places second at Shenandoah Twilight

WINCHESTER, Va. – The VMI men's and women's cross country teams represented the Institute well with strong finishes in their respective races Friday at Kernstown Battlefield hosted by Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia.

On the men's side, the Keydets placed second with 65 points behind first-place Dickinson, which took the crown with 22 points. Host Shenandoah came in third with 67 points followed by Frostburg State in fourth with 93 points. Carroll Community College placed fifth overall with 136 points.

Senior Ben Hagerich led the way with a first-place 6K finish of 19:36 followed by junior Patrick Lowry in sixth place in 20:05. Freshman Cameron Lamber again had a strong showing by placing 22nd overall in 21:32. Junior Colin Crenshaw was the third Keydet finisher in 28th place overall in 21:45 while sophomore Peter Fiorillo also scored team points with a 39th-place finish in 22:21.
