Men’s Cross Country competes well at Panorama Farms

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The VMI men's cross country team represented the Institute well with a strong finish at Friday's Panorama Farms Invitational hosted by the University of Virginia in Earlysville, Virginia.

VMI finished in 15th place overall with 448 points on the 8K course led by senior Ben Hagerich, who arrived in 96th place individually with a season-best time of 26:05.60. Junior Colin Crenshaw came in 140th place in 27:25.40 ahead of freshman Timothy Renquist, who finished 150th in 27:58.40.

Four of the six VMI men who competed earned a season-best 8K time.

Cameron Lambert (153rd, 28:18.90) and Peter Fiorillo (155th, 28:24.40) also scored team points for the Keydets.

Host University of Virginia won the race with 36 points followed by Virginia Tech with 43. Fellow ACC power Wake Forest finished third with 44 points followed by Charlotte (119) and Ohio (186).

The Keydets have two weeks to prepare for the Southern Conference Championship race, which is set for Saturday, November 1 at the Tryon International Equestrian Center in Mill Spring, North Carolina.
