Women’s Track opens Catamount Classic with solid marks

CULLOWHEE, N.C. – The VMI women's track and field team is off to a good start after opening the Catamount Classic with excellent marks Friday at the Catamount Athletic Complex in Cullowhee, North Carolina.
 
Day One Results – Catamount Classic
 
Junior Shea Hart finished third in the 100m hurdles preliminaries with a time of 14.20 seconds – a new personal record – to qualify for the finals round Saturday. JeNiya White and Heaven Hall also competed for VMI finishing 13th and 15th, respectively.
 
SeMore Green placed fifth in the 200 meter dash in 24.67 seconds for VMI's top finish for the event. Jennifer Koumondji and Miracle Eric also competed and placed 24th and 27th, respectively.
 
Koumondji performed well in the 100m dash prelims by arriving in ninth place overall in 12.44 seconds – a new PR – and just missed qualifying for Saturday's final round. Eric also ran the event and finished 12th in 12.60 seconds.
