About the Bears (5-5-2, 0-2-2)
With five wins on the season, Mercer looks to bounce back from a 4-2 loss at the hands of Chattanooga Thursday night on the road. The match was the Bears' second conference loss of the season as they also fell to Western Carolina by a 2-1 score last week but have earned ties with Furman and ETSU to stay in contention for a conference title in late October.

The Bears have earned wins this season over Alabama State, Kennesaw State, Gardner-Webb and Winthrop while falling to #22 Oklahoma State in the season opener and to Alabama shortly after.

Payton Nutzman and Morganne Eikelbarner lead the team with seven goals apiece - tied for fourth highest in the conference - while Sydney Farr has four.  Nutzman also has five assists on the year for a team-high 19 points and 55 shots.

Goalie Lindsay Bell has started 10 of the team's 12 matches thus far and has allowed 15 goals for a 1.50 goals-against average. She has logged 44 saves for a .746 save percentage and turned in two shutouts.

All-Time Series (1-9-1)
The Keydets look to snap a three-game losing streak to the Bears as the last result for VMI in the series came from a 2-2 tie in Lexington back on October 10, 2021. VMI's sole victory in the all-time series came from a 1-0 victory in Lexington on October 22, 2017.
