Women's Track & Field Coach Eddie Williams will serve as Saturday's honorary captain. Williams was recently inducted into the Bethel High School Athletics Hall of Fame. Saturday's game is Youth and RARO Day, with all youth tickets being just $10.00 for this game.

A LOOK AT LAST WEEK
VMI had its annual date with an FBS Team last weekend, falling at Georgia Tech 59-7. The Keydets would keep the game close early, as the score was just 3-0 in the waning moments of the first quarter, but the Yellow Jackets took command and never looked back. Freshman Ethen Horne got VMI on the board in the fourth, hauling in his first career touchdown reception from Brady Hammonds (also first career TD).

SCOUTING THE SPARTANS
Norfolk State has had a busy fall, opening the season in Week Zero when they fell narrowly to Florida A&M. The Spartans enter the weekend with a 1-3 overall record, scoring a 28-23 victory over Virginia State on September 7. Last week, the Spartans fell 37-7 at the hands of local rival Hampton. Jalen Daniels has been the signal caller for Norfolk State thus far (469 yard, 3 TDs), but the Spartans expect the return of Otto Kuhns (1244 yards, 12 TD in 2023) who missed the first four games due to an NCAA suspension. On the ground, Kevon King has 331 yards and three scores, while Jacquez Jones has 188 yards on 12 catches and a score. Defensively, AJ Richardson (34.0 tackles) leads a Spartan unit that is conceding 31.5 points a game and 415 total yards per game.
DIGGING DEEP
Forty-two Keydets saw action last weekend in Atlanta, including four different quarterbacks for VMI. Chandler Wilson, who came on late for an injured Collin Shannon against Bucknell, got his first career start, while Brady Hammonds, Jojo Crump and Cade Cox all made their collegiate debuts under center. Johnathan Hunter-Horton and Steven Riveros have seen increased time at the safety position, while Austin Fletcher has stepped in for Nathan Payne as the long snapper.
THE SERIES
VMI and Norfolk State have met just twice in their respective histories, with each team prevailing at home. In 2003, the Keydets rolled 34-0, while the Spartans protected home field in 2006 by scoring a 32-19 victory.
