Keydets Complete Winter Relays with Top Finishes

LEXINGTON, Va. – Looking to get better every day, the VMI track and field teams earned excellent finishes to complete the VMI Winter Relays Saturday at the Corps Physical Training Facility.

The event was highlighted by VMI's Senior Day recognition as nine cadet-athletes were honored for their contributions over the past four years.

Senior Kevin Linko set a new personal record in the heptathlon with a combined 4248 points to take first place and Isaiah Blount came in second to lead the way for the VMI men.

On the women's side, sophomore sprinter/jumper Eleyah Armstrong earned a time of 7.72 seconds in the 60 meter, a new personal-best time to arrive in first overall.

Distance runner Gretal Shank registered a new personal record in the 800 meter in 2:19.42 to place first in her race.

The Keydets will compete at the Darius Dixon Invitational hosted by Liberty University next Saturday, February 11 in Lynchburg, Virginia.
