Women’s Track Competes Well at Liberty Dual

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Competing in a dual meet against host Liberty University, the VMI women's track team earned multiple strong performances at the Matthes-Hopkins Track Complex in Lynchburg, Virginia.

Sophomore sprinter/jumper Eleyah Armstrong took first place in both the 60m dash (7.80s) and long jump (5.34m) to highlight the evening for the Keydets.

Freshman Taylor Hill placed second in the pole vault with a personal-best height of 3.55 meters, and sophomore Caroline Fiorillo took first in the mile run with a time of 6:22.62.

VMI Director of Track and Field Zack Scott
"We would like to thank the Liberty women's track and field team Director of Track and Field and Cross Country Lance Bingham and his staff for the opportunity to compete. Led by Eleyah Armstrong's win in the long jump and 60m dash, our team had some great performances, such as Taylor Hill's Indoor PR at 3.55m in the pole vault. We continue to improve and find our rhythm with three meets left until the Southern Conference Championship."
