ASHEVILLE, N.C. — Following a tough loss to Robert Morris Thursday, the VMI women's soccer team continues play on the road with a matchup at UNC Asheville Sunday at 3:30 p.m. in Asheville, North Carolina.

LAST TIME ON THE PITCH: The Keydets fell to Robert Morris by a 2-0 score Thursday afternoon in Moon Township, Pennsylvania. THE BULLDOGS: UNC Asheville opened the season Thursday night on the road with a 2-2 draw against SoCon foe Wofford in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Early in the second half, UNCA's Taylor Gardner tied the score at 1-1 in the 69th minute before teammate Azalea Mihailovich put the Bulldogs up, 2-1, just moments later. With just a few minutes before the end of regulation, Wofford knotted the match at two apiece to withhold the victory from Asheville.

UNCA goalie Bronwyn Luitwieler finished the game with two saves facing 16 Wofford shot attempts.

KEYDETS vs. BULLDOGS: Sunday's matchup is the first time since the 2018 season the Keydets and Bulldogs have faced each other, a match that resulted in a 0-0 scoreless draw. UNC Asheville leads the all-time series by a 9-4-1 count.
