Jordan, Rusterucci Earn SoCon Postseason Honors

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – After an excellent season, VMI junior Hartley Jordan and freshman Luke Rusterucci were recognized by the Southern Conference with postseason honors announced by the league Tuesday afternoon.
 
With the All-SoCon teams voted upon by the league's coaches, Jordan was named to the All-Southern Conference First Team while Rusterucci was named to the SoCon All-Freshman Team.
 
Jordan ranked third on the team with 35 points on 24 goals and 11 assists over the course of the regular season. He took 114 shots at the net – second on the team – with 50 requiring a goalie save for a .439 shot-on-goal percentage for the year. He also picked up 31 groundballs and caused four turnovers during the season.
 
Rusterucci ranked second on the team with points with 38 on the season on 15 goals and team-high 23 assists. His 1.64 assists per game average ranks fifth in the conference and second most among freshmen across the league. A starter for all 14 games this season as a true freshman, the Peachtree City, Georgia, native took 42 shots on the year with 27 requiring a goalie save (.643 shot-on-goal pct.).He also picked up 29 groundballs and caused five turnovers as a rookie. He was also not penalized a single time over the course of the year.
 
High Point's Asher Nolting was named Offensive Player of the Year, Jacksonville's Colin Hinton was named Defensive Player of the Year and Jackson Intrieri of Jacksonville was named Freshman of the Year. After leading his team to an undefeated league record, Jacksonville head coach John Galloway was named the league's Coach of the Year.
