Rogers, Norris receive NEC weekly honors

BRIDGEWATER, N.J. – After playing key roles in VMI's dominant 13-6 win over Wagner Saturday, VMI's Adam Norris and Jack Rogers were recognized by the Northeast Conference with weekly honors announced Monday.

Norris was named the co-Defensive Player of the Week while Rogers was named a Prime Performer as a faceoff specialist. Both played their final game at Drill Field 2 Saturday and were honored before the game on Senior Day alongside nine of their Class of '26 teammates.

Norris logged 14 saves in the big win Saturday in a crucial league victory as VMI continues its fight for a playoff spot at the NEC Tournament in two weeks. The Yorktown, New York, native allowed just six goals in a complete 60 minutes played having faced 32 shots on the day. With the win, he improves to 6-6 individually for the season. Detroit Mercy goalie Cooper St. Clair was named the other co-Defensive Player of the Week. The two will square off Saturday in Detroit.

Rogers won 17 of 23 faceoffs to help VMI win the possession battle. The Suwanee, Georgia, native also scored one goal early in the game and picked up seven groundballs during his faceoff attempts.

Both Norris and Rogers were also recognized as Prime Performers.

With a win Saturday at Detroit Mercy, the Keydets will clinch a spot as the No. 4 seed at the NEC Tournament and potentially slide up to the No. 3 seed with a Cleveland State loss this weekend. The Keydets and Titans face off Saturday at noon in Detroit, Michigan.

No. 1 seed Robert Morris will host the tournament in Moon Township, Pennsylvania from Thursday, April 30-Saturday, May 2.
