Keydets Close out Home Slate this Weekend

LEXINGTON, Va. – Playing their final two home games of the season, the VMI women's soccer team looks to finish its home slate strong as the Keydets host Wofford Friday at 4 p.m. and Furman Sunday at 1 p.m. at Patchin Field.

THE WOFFORD TERRIERS (6-5-3, 1-2-2)
Ashley Grant leads Wofford with three goals on the year while Mia Bookhard and Ansley Elizalde both have two. Five other Terriers have scored one goal on the year. Grant also leads the team with 25 shot attempts for the year while Bookhard has totaled 19 thus far. Goalie Caroline Doss has played all but 52 minutes for the season and owns a 0.89 goals-against average to go with 63 saves.
 
THE FURMAN PALADINS (7-6-1, 2-2-1)
With a high-scoring offense, the Paladins are led by Nieva Gaither and Stella Garcia, who both have five goals apiece on the season. Julia Nicholas has logged four goals for the year, Valentina Mosquera has three and Hannah Farr, Shania Diaz and Ashlyn Goila all have two goals with as the Paladins approach the end of the regular season.
 
The Paladins take on UNCG Friday night in Greensboro, North Carolina, before facing the Keydets Sunday.

KEYDETS vs. TERRIERS
The Keydets hold a 1-9-1 all-time series against the Terriers. Wofford came away with a 3-0 victory over VMI last season in Spartanburg.
 
KEYDETS vs. PALADINS
The Paladins have won all eight games in the all-time series as conference foes with Furman claiming a narrow 3-2 win over the Keydets in 2021.
