Keydets Host UNCG Saturday Morning

LEXINGTON, Va. – Moved up from Sunday, the VMI women's soccer team will host UNC Greensboro on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Patchin Field.

The Keydets (1-5-2, 0-5-1) are coming off a 3-1 loss to Mercer on Sunday but showed well on offense with several scoring opportunities. Junior Maria Vargas converted a penalty kick and came close to another score, while Katie Orndorff, Hannah White and Onika Hammond added shot attempts.

Junior Whitney Edwards-Roberson leads VMI with four goals on the season, with Kiley Cropper and Maggie Beckman earning two goals apiece.

Senior Sidney Swoope has 28 saves on the season.

About the Spartans (2-4-2, 2-3-1 SoCon)
UNCG is coming off a 3-1 win against The Citadel on Sunday with three different Spartans scoring.

Caroline Woods and Ashley Avelino each have two goals on the season. Goalies Abby Buchholz, Kelley Mitchell and Aiyanah Tyler-Cooper have split time to combine for 36 saves on the season.
