Keydets Take on Furman in Home Opener

LEXINGTON, Va. – The VMI women's soccer team will play its home opener this Friday against Southern Conference foe Furman set for a 4 p.m. start at Patchin Field.

The game will be broadcast on ESPN+.

The Keydets (1-1-2, 0-1-1) are coming off a hard-fought double overtime tie at ETSU last Sunday. Junior Gabby Criscione scored the only VMI goal off a pass from Sarah Anschutz.

VMI has three players with two goals so far this season: Kiley Cropper, Whitney Edwards-Roberson, and Maggie Beckman.

Senior goalie Sidney Swoope had four saves the last time out and now has 13 saves on the season.

Furman is coming off back-to-back Southern Conference wins against Mercer and The Citadel.

Isabella Guiterrez, Ellie Laxer, and Kyndal Anderson each have a goal on the season. Goalie Nora Sampson has seven saves so far this year.
