Women's Soccer Travels to Davidson College

LEXINGTON, Va. – Fresh off a commanding win to start the season, the VMI women's soccer team is again on the road to face Davidson on Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m. in Davidson, North Carolina.

The game will be broadcast on ESPN+.

The Keydets (1-0, 0-0) look to build off momentum from an exciting match against Southern Virginia on Tuesday night. The match was the first of the season and VMI improved to 6-0 all-time against Southern Virginia.

Senior Kiley Cropper and sophomore Maggie Beckman each had two goals in a shots advantage dominated by VMI, 17-2. Junior Whitney Edwards-Roberson added a goal and an assist to lead the Keydets to a 5-0 shutout victory.

Edwards-Roberson and Beckman each had four shots on the night, with Cropper adding three on the night. Morgan Anderson and Natalie Carpenter each added two shots, with Melanie Rodriguez and Sam Fee tallying shots.

The Keydets traded time for goalkeepers with Noelle Heilpern, Sidney Swoope, and Jillian Hall in the net.

About the Wildcats (1-1, 0-0 A-10)
Davidson began the season with 5-0 victory against Wingate in an exhibition match, followed by a 1-0 season-opening victory over Western Carolina. Wildcat goalkeeper Mary Grace Bunch earned Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Week honors after earning two saves in the shutout win.

Bunch would add two more saves in a 1-0 loss to Appalachian State. Remi White and Gretchen Pearson had three shots each in the loss, with Hailey Braemer earning the Wildcats sole shot on goal.

The Wildcats finished the 2019 season with an 8-8-3 record, their best since 2011.
