LEXINGTON, Va. – Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, VMI women's soccer head coach
Chris Haught-Thompson announced updates to his team's 2020 fall schedule Wednesday morning.
The Keydets will play a solo exhibition match at Old Dominion on August 11 before starting the regular season on August 20 against Georgia Southern at a neutral site in Pineville, North Carolina.
Following a road matchup at Ohio University on August 23, the Keydets will open their home slate on August 26 against Robert Morris at 4 p.m. at Patchin Field.
VMI then plays on the road for a pair of games including Davidson College on September 3 and at Elon on September 7. Following a home matchup with Morehead State on September 10, the Keydets then embark on a three-game road swing with games at Navy (Sept. 13), Marshall (Sept. 17) and at George Mason (Sept. 20).
Southern Conference play begins at Western Carolina on September 25 followed by a game at ETSU that weekend to close the month.
The Keydets open October with a pair of SoCon matches against Furman on October 2 and versus Wofford on October 4. The following weekend from October 9-11, the Keydets will play at The Citadel and Mercer.
Pending any further announcements, the Keydets are still scheduled to play at ACC opponent Wake Forest on October 15 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
VMI will close the regular season with three consecutive SoCon matches against UNCG (Oct. 18), Samford (Oct. 23) and Chattanooga (Oct. 25)
The Southern Conference tournament will run during the final week of October.
