Keydet Swimming Travels to ODU Saturday
LEXINGTON, Va. – The VMI men's and women's swimming and diving teams will compete at Old Dominion University Saturday at noon in Norfolk. The women will also face North Florida University Saturday in a tri-meet.
Freshman
Jack Sheehan earned the America East Conference Male Swimmer of the Week award on Tuesday. It is his second such honor of the season, as he also was named the league's top male swimmer on Dec. 10.
The native of Stafford, Va. captured the 200-yard IM in 1:56.12 Saturday at Washington & Lee University. He also finished second in the 200-freestyle in 1:47.49 and third in the 200-breaststroke in 2:15.96.
The young swimmer already has his name in the VMI record books four times. He holds the top varsity and freshman marks in the 200 breaststroke (2:09.71) and the 200-IM (1:55.22).
The Keydet men lost narrowly to the Monarchs (128-160) a year ago, while the women fell 240-39.
