LEXINGTON, Va.- Morehead State freshmen Rachel & Rebekah Kendall each scored a first half goal as VMI dropped a 4-0 decision Saturday afternoon at Patchin Field.
Morehead State (3-2) kept the pressure on all day, as the Lady Eagles outshot the Keydets (0-3) by a 21-7 margin. VMI keeper Jessica Rheinlander made eight saves on the day, while two Morehead State keepers combined for three.
Rachel Kendall got the scoring started in the eighth minute, when her sister Rebekah fed her a cross from the left side that she headed home. Rebekah was on the receiving end of the next goal, as she beat Rheinlander after an assist came from Elise Wahstrom.
The Lady Eagles kept up the pressure in the second half, as Jenna Adams and Jackie Borda each tacked on goals to bring the tally to 4-0.
The Keydets return to action Friday evening, when they travel to Boone, N.C. to take on Appalachian State.
