Women’s Track and Field starts strong at App State

BOONE, N.C. – The VMI women's track and field team is off to a great start following the first day of action at the John Weaver Invitational hosted by App State University in Boone, North Carolina.

Junior Morgan Fraser had the best finish of the day for the Keydets by winning the high jump with a height of 1.60 meters.
 
Ruth Dickersheid placed third in the hammer throw with a new PR distance of 40.45 meters while Jada James came in eighth at 32.10 meters, also a new personal record.
 
Dickersheid also finished third in the javelin throw with another PR distance of 29.20 meters while freshman Ava Buckner placed eighth overall at 22.60 meters.
 
The Keydets resume action Saturday with the second day of the John Weaver Invite.
