VMI off to strong start at Electric City Invite

ANDERSON, S.C. – The VMI women's track and field team is off to a great start after the opening day of competition at the 2025 Electric City Invite hosted by Anderson University in Anderson, South Carolina.

Junior Shea Hart is presently in second place in the heptathlon after placing first in the 100m hurdles in 14.56 seconds and second in the high jump at 1.54 meters. She also took fourth in the 200 meter in 26.12 seconds and seventh in the shot put with a distance of 8.55 meters.

Top Performances
* Sophomore Jillian Sisk came in second in the 3000 meter run with a time of 11:27.09
* Senior Julie Freitas finished third in the triple jump at 10.97m
* Isabelle Cabales logged a 13th-place finish at 20.61m
* Freshman Ruth Dickersheid registered 13th place in the hammer throw at 35.87m
