Faison named SoCon Women’s Track Athlete of the Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – After an outstanding weekend at the Big South-SoCon Challenge, VMI sophomore sprinter Naturale Faison has been named the March 25 Southern Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week.
 
Faison highlighted the meet for the Keydets as she claimed the individual title in both the 100m dash and 200m dash with personal record times. She earned a new PR of 11.85 seconds in the 100m and a new PR time of 24.44 seconds in the 200m.


 
Her accomplishments on the track helped the Southern Conference women to a team title over the Big South combined teams of Radford, UNC Asheville, Winthrop and Gardner-Webb. The Keydets competed alongside Western Carolina and Wofford to help lift the SoCon women to victory.

VMI has this weekend off from competition but is preparing to compete at the Electric City Invitational next Friday and Saturday, April 3-4, hosted by Anderson University in Anderson, South Carolina.
