Track and Field enjoys successful day at JMU Invite

HARRISONBURG, Va. – The VMI track and field teams found continued success at the midpoint of the 2025 outdoor season with several personal bests Saturday at the JMU Invite hosted by James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia.

Senior Nick Brown highlighted the day for the men's team winning the individual title in the 400m with a first-place finish in 48.70 seconds.

Freshman Tazewell Rae placed second in the shot put at 15.28 meters and senior Hunter Davis finished 11th at 13.60 meters.

Keyandre Midgett came in third in the long jump at 7.00 meters, while Jesse Vaughn (4th, 4.10m) and Thomas Gannon (6th, 3.65m) led the way in the pole vault for VMI.

*Freshman Jackson Geisendaffer placed fifth in the 3000m in 9:00.24
*Isaac Osouna came in seventh in the 400m hurdles in 58.41 seconds
*In the 100m, Destin Moore came in eighth in 10.79 seconds
*Freshman Grant Fraser finished ninth in the high jump at 1.80 meters
*Rae competed in the discus and placed 11th overall at 39.56 meters
*Ben Hagerich logged a 1:57.55 for 12th place in the 800m
*Kevin Shank placed 18th overall in the 1500m with a personal-best 4:05.08
