LEXINGTON, Va. – Members of the VMI Rifle program are set to compete in the USA Shooting Winter Air Gun Championships on Saturday and Sunday.
The Championship offers participants one of two chances to qualify for the Junior Olympic Rifle Championships which are held in the summer.
Laura Canaday,
Kyle Kemp,
Zachary Mauriello,
Alexander Pohlman,
Soraya Sar, and
Wuyue Xie will represent the Keydets in this prestigious.
Pohlman has the top aggregate average of 1155.2 with an air rifle score of 585.4. Mauriello has averaged 579.2 in action this fall, while Kemp has posted an average of 576.1 for VMI.
Xie has led the VMI Women's Team with an aggregate of 1143.5, posting the top air rifle average of 583.3. Sar is just behind Xie, as the impressive rookie has an aggregate of 1139 and an air average of 575.8 while Canaday has a strong 572 average in the air rifle.
