LEXINGTON, Va. – The VMI Rifle Teams hosted two ranked teams on Saturday, falling to No. 12 Akron and No. 19 UAB at Kilbourne Hall.
The Keydets Mixed Team posted a 4587 with 218 centers to finish fourth, and the Women's Program 4531 to place fourth.
Darian Tweedell was the top individual for VMI, posting an aggregate of 1154 and 60 centers. Tweedell had tied for the highest Smallbore score for VMI (563) and posted the highest Air Rifle (591), placing third in that discipline.
Overall, VMI was stronger in the Air, as
Wuyue Xie (588),
Cody Jenkins (586) and Alex Pohlman (586) placed in the top 10 in that discipline.
Joshua Young tied Tweedell in the Smallbore with a score of 563 and 24 centers.
