Rifle gears up to face The Citadel, others at Sills Range

LEXINGTON, Va. – The VMI Rifle Program returns to action Saturday, opening a busy weekend at the Sills Range in Centreville, Virginia.

The Keydets will face rival The Citadel on Saturday, before matching up against Wofford and John Jay on Sunday. Both mixed and women's teams will compete each day.

Last Time Out
The VMI Mixed Program hosted No. 1 West Virginia last weekend, firing a  4580 to finish second. Alexander Pohlman led the Keydets with an individual score of 1160 and 57 centers to finish 7th, and Cody Jenkins placed 8th with a 1145 and team-best 588 in the Air Rifle. Darian Tweedell placed 10th overall, shooting a 1138 with 50 centers. The women's team last shot on October 4, posting a 4546 against No. 18 North Georgia.

Scouting The Citadel
The Citadel's mixed team is posting an average of 3986 while the women's squad is averaging 3380. Meghan Mix leads the women with an aggregate of 1143 while Theron Hull-Walton is averaging a 1138 for the mixed team.    

Scouting Wofford
The Terriers have shot just twice this season and are averaging 4533.5 this season. Sam Nickless leads all shooters with an aggregate of 1139.5. Wofford most recently posted a 4567 last Saturday.

Scouting John Jay
John Jay has yet to shoot this season, but return Tom White as their head coach for the seventh season. John Jay finished fourth in the MAC Air Rifle Championship and fifth in the Smallbore.
