Women’s Cross Country finishes strong at UVA meet

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The VMI women's cross country team represented the Institute well with a strong finish at Friday's Panorama Farms Invitational hosted by the University of Virginia in Earlysville, Virginia.

The Keydets completed the 6K race in 14th place overall with 423 points, their first 6K of the 2025 season. Host University of Virginia took first with 33 points followed by Virginia Tech with 70. Elon came in third with 99 points followed by Ohio (113) and High Point (116).

Junior Jillian Sisk led VMI with a 61st-place finish in 22:07.00 followed by sophomore Reagan Gilman, who came in 86th overall in 22:40.90.

Sophomores Zoffia Gonzalez (141st, 24:51.60), Samantha Layton (147th, 25:04.80) and Natalia Dias (150th, 26:05.60) rounded out the competition for the Keydets.

The Keydets have two weeks to prepare for the Southern Conference Championship race, which is set for Saturday, November 1 at the Tryon International Equestrian Center in Mill Spring, North Carolina.
