Both teams are coming off a great performance three weeks ago at the JMU Invitational where the men placed first overall and the women finished third at the New Market Battlefield in New Market, Virginia.

VMI Head Cross Country Coach Tony Skiles
"The Keydets will face their toughest challenge of the year against formidable opponents in #4 Virginia and #10 Wake Forest University. This will be a great test for us right before the conference championship. We will discover our identity as a team and reveal the fight and hunger within us. Last year at this meet, the men's team finished in last place, but they are ready to rise and exceed expectations this year. We aim to keep building from week to week and to thrive on the success we achieve."

"The women's team is coming off a commendable third-place finish at the James Madison Invitational, with junior Jillian Sisk leading the way by finishing third overall. This week, they face tough competition, going up against strong teams like #2 NC State and #12 Virginia. In our previous meet, we focused on the importance of coming together as a united group. Together, they will give their best and strive for improvement!"
