Women’s Track and Field opens Ebanks Invite with strong marks

FAIRFAX, Va. – The VMI women's track and field team is off to a great start to the 2024 Dalton Ebanks Invitational hosted by George Mason University as multiple cadet-athletes earned excellent finishes Friday in Fairfax, Virginia.

Day 1 Results – Dalton Ebanks Invitational

Armstrong re-breaks own school record
*Junior Eleyah Armstrong re-broke her own school record in the long jump with a distance of 6.01 meters (19' 8.5"), topping the mark she set last season (19' 7.5") by an inch

Excellent Performances
*Freshman Morgan Fraser came in fifth place in the high jump with a height of 1.58 meters
*Freshman Anijah James placed 13^th overall in the long jump with a distance of 5.02 meters
*Sophomore Alina Laforest came in 18^th in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:09.73
