Track and Field Teams head to Dalton Ebanks Invitational

LEXINGTON, Va. – After sending a handful of cadet-athletes down to the Raleigh Relays last week while most of the team went home to train during Spring Furlough, the VMI track and field teams will send a host of team members north to Fairfax, Virginia, this weekend to compete at the Dalton Ebanks Invitational hosted by George Mason University Friday and Saturday, April 5-6..

At the Raleigh Relays, sophomore pole vaulter Taylor Hill had the best final day of VMI's three competitors last Saturday as she finished sixth overall with a height of 3.65 meters (11' 11.75") to tie a personal-best mark for the event.
 
In the women's long jump, junior Eleyah Armstrong placed 14th overall with a distance of 5.71 meters.
 
A week after breaking the school record in the men's pole vault, freshman Cameron Thomas competed last Friday and finished seventh overall in the event with a height of 4.65 meters (15'3").
 
In the men's triple jump, senior Keyandre Midgett came in 10th overall with a distance of 14.6 meters.
 
On the women's side, junior Eleyah Armstrong competed in the 100 meter dash and placed 12th overall with a new personal-best time of 11.79 seconds.
