Keydets off to good start at Raleigh Relays

RALEIGH, N.C. – Four Keydets competed Friday on the opening day of the Raleigh Relays and represented the program well with strong marks at NC State's Paul Derr Track Facility in Raleigh, North Carolina.

A week after breaking the school record in the men's pole vault, freshman Cameron Thomas competed Friday morning and finished seventh overall in the event with a height of 4.65 meters (15'3").
 
In the men's triple jump, senior Keyandre Midgett came in 10th overall with a distance of 14.6 meters.
 
Freshman Rafe Clendenin competed in the men's discus throw and logged a distance of 46.49 meters for 24th place in the field against top national competition.
 
On the women's side, junior Eleyah Armstrong competed in the 100 meter dash and placed 12th overall with a new personal-best time of 11.79 seconds.
 
Up Next
Three Keydets will compete Saturday morning, including Armstrong in the women's long jump slated for a 10:30 a.m. start. Senior Andrew Granger will throw the hammer at 9:45 a.m., and sophomore Taylor Hill will compete in the women's pole vault at 10:30 a.m.
