Men’s Track and Field closes well at John Weaver Invite

BOONE, N.C. – The VMI men's track and field team earned excellent times and finishes to close out competition on a rainy Saturday at the 2026 John Weaver Invitational hosted by App State University in Boone, North Carolina.

Senior Isaiah Blount led the way with a fourth-place finish in the discus throw with a distance of 43.16 meters. He ended up a little ahead of Elisha Williams' 10^th-place mark of 37.95 meters, a new personal best.

Freshman Cameron Lambert competed well in the mile run by placing fourth overall in 4:26.80, also a new personal record.

Williams also showed out in the shot put by placing seventh overall at 14.47 meters just ahead of teammate Tazewell Rae's eighth-place mark of 14.40 meters.
