Cross Country teams set to compete at UVA meet

LEXINGTON, Va. – The VMI cross country teams head to the prestigious Panorama Farms Invitational hosted by the University of Virginia this weekend poised for a critical test against a deep field of regional and nationally ranked programs in Charlottesville, Virginia.

The men's team will run an 8K course at 8:45 a.m. before the women's team runs a 6K at 9:30 a.m.

The Keydets return to competition after more than a month for various reasons. VMI was scheduled to compete at the Winthrop Invitational on September 28, which was canceled due to Hurricane Helene. The Keydets were then slated for the Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh on October 4 but had to pull out due to VMI Fall FTX obligations.

Last Time Out
Sophomore Kevin Shank led VMI to a fifth-place finish with a 21st-place personal finish in a personal-best time of 18:37 at the Furman Invitational. He arrived one second before junior Ben Hagerich came in 22nd in 18:38, also a personal best.

The women's team placed seventh overall after sophomore Jillian Sisk led the way in 28th place in 22:46. Freshman Reagan Gilman arrived in 44th overall in 23:45.
