Cross Country announces 2025 schedule

LEXINGTON, Va. – Looking ahead to a big season, VMI Director of Track and Field and Cross Country Zack Scott announced his team's 2025 schedule Tuesday morning.
 
VMI will compete in four challenging regular season meets from August through October before heading to the Southern Conference Cross Country Championship and NCAA Regional in November.
 
"Our cross country program is set to return this fall with a young, determined roster and a leadership corps led by team captains Ben Hagerich and Jillian Sisk," Scott said. "We will tackle a progressively structured 2025 schedule designed to challenge and build confidence throughout the season. It's built to prepare our athletes mentally and physically for the SoCon race in November."
 
The team kicks off its campaign on August 30 at the Spider Alumni Invitational hosted by the University of Richmond at Pole Green Park in Richmond, Virginia.
 
Two weeks later, VMI will race at the Shenandoah University Twilight in Winchester, Virginia, before competing at the James Madison Invitational September 26 at the New Market Battlefield. The Keydets will conclude the regular season running the Panorama Farms Invitational hosted by the University of Virginia October 17 in Charlottesville.
 
The SoCon Championship will take place November 1 with a host and location still to be determined. Select VMI athletes will compete at the NCAA Southeast Regional on November 15 hosted by UVA at the Panorama Farms course.
