Keydets Finish Competition at Virginia Challenge

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The VMI men's track and field team finished the Virginia Challenge with stellar marks on a rainy Saturday at Lannigan Field in Charlottesville, Virginia.

The 4x100 meter relay squad of Charles Male, Nick Brown, Liam McBride and Keyandre Midgett placed seventh overall in the event in 42.14 seconds.

Liam McBride placed eighth in the 110-meter hurdles with a personal record time of 14.42 seconds.

In the 400m hurdles, Xander Topos arrived in 18th overall in 56.16 seconds, and Trent Whittaker competed in the 800 meter with a 22nd place time of 1:50.15.

Richard Edwards earned a personal record in the 400 meter with a 22nd-place finish in 48.90 seconds.

"We had another round of PRs from the top Keydets. Eleyah Armstrong in the long jump, Liam McBride in the 110m hurdles and Richard Edwards in the 400m. We are looking forward to our last meet tune up at Appalachian State next weekend. We were lucky when the weather gave us a break after a two-hour delay and we competed to the best of our ability."

VMI next competes at the App State Open next Friday and Saturday in Boone, North Carolina.
