VMI Completes VertKlasse Meeting with Personal Bests

HIGH POINT, N.C. – VMI completed day two of the VertKlasse Meeting hosted by High Point University with excellent marks as several Keydets earned personal bests Saturday at Vert Stadium in High Point, North Carolina.

Senior mid-distance runner Trent Whittaker placed third in the 800 meter with a time of 1:50.17. Nick Brown (48.76) and Richard Edwards (49.30) logged personal bests in the 400 meter with respective seventh and ninth-place marks for the event.

In the triple jump, Keyandre Midgett came in seventh overall with a distance of 14.84 meters.

Herbert Brooks and Isaiah Blount both earned personal bests in the discus throw. Brooks placed 19th overall at 43.97 meters and Blount finished 23rd overall at 42.38 meters.

"As we finish our second outdoor meet at High Point, our team continues to progress in the right direction. It was a second day of personal bests and strong performances from Herbert Brooks and Isaiah Blount as they move up the Southern Conference list in the discus. Nick Brown and Rich Edwards earned personal bests and finished strong in the 400m. Keyandre Midgett - Southern Conference indoor triple jump champion - finished with a good mark his first triple jump competition for the outdoor season.
