Complete Results

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The VMI women's track and field team got off to a strong start to the 2023 outdoor season after the third and final day at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational hosted by the City of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

The 4x400 relay squad of Heaven Hall, SeMore Green, Shea Hart and Eleyah Armstrong placed seventh overall in the race with a time of 4:08.35.

In the discus throw, Jenna Kirkland placed eighth overall in the field with a personal record distance of 36.90 meters.

VMI Director of Track and Field Zack Scott
"Our outdoor season at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational produced personal-best performances on all three days on the women's side. The 11-woman squad team score came from discus thrower Jenna Kirkland's eighth place PR finish and our 4 x 400m relay team's seventh-place finish.

"We are a young squad with a new staff this year. We started on a good note our first outdoor meet against a field of 30 teams from around the country and our ladies faced the challenge.

"Next week, our women's team will be ready for a new challenge Saturday at William and Mary in Williamsburg."
