Keydets Earn Solid Marks on Day 2 in Myrtle

Day 2 Results

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Looking for continued improvement and progression on the second day of competition at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational, the VMI men's track and field team had several individuals better their times and distances Friday in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

In the qualifying round of the 110-meter hurdles, Keyandre Midgett led the field with a time of 14.64 seconds and was pursued closely by Liam McBride's second-place time of 14.88 seconds.
Stephen Munson arrived in sixth in 16.15 seconds and Isaiah Blount came in eighth overall in 16.46 seconds. Midgett went on to place seventh in the preliminaries in 14.64 seconds and McBride finished eighth in 14.80 seconds.

Midgett also participated in the long jump and finished second at 7.27 meters.

Ty Wesenyak placed ninth in the javelin throw at 50.80 meters and Sam Clendenin came in 11th place at 47.72 meters.

In the 5,000-meter run, freshman Nicholas Ligday arrived in 11th place overall in 15:59.39.

The Keydets will compete on the third and final day of the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational all day Saturday in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
