Keydets Open VMI Winter Relays with Top Marks

Day 1 Results
 
LEXINGTON, Va. – The VMI track and field teams opened the 2023 VMI Winter Relays with top marks and personal records achieved Friday afternoon at the Corps Physical Training Facility.
 
Day One Highlights
*Already in the SoCon lead in the weight throw, Andrew Granger earned his first win at home with a personal record throw of 16.48 meters.
 
*Jumper Keyandre Midgett again won the triple jump with a distance of 15.15 meters, and distance runner D. Alex Fiorillo took the 1000 meter
 
*Liam McBride earned a personal record time of 8.29 seconds in the 60 meter hurdles as did Xander Topos with a time of 8.53 seconds. Both advanced to Saturday's final round for the event at 12:15 p.m.
 
*Isaiah Blount and Kevin Linko lead the way in the heptathlon. Both resume multi action at 8 a.m. Saturday morning.
