The Keydets will face top competition as some of the top running programs across the country come to the Paul Short Run to race. With over 5,500 student-athletes from over 450 colleges or high schools competing Friday, the Paul Short Run will feature 12 races throughout the day starting with two open races, six college races and ending with four high school races.

VMI Head Cross Country Coach Danielle Gray:
"With two races under our belts, Paul Short is a bit of a transition point in the season for our team. The competition, atmosphere, course design, and training is geared towards the team running some lifetime bests this race and moving forward. Since the majority of our men raced their first 8k last competition, this will be an opportunity for them to take what they learned at Virginia Tech and be better prepared for this race. Similarly, with our women's team we are still extremely young and the team is still navigating the demands and race tactics of a 6k. I am excited for the team to have the opportunity to get out and race fast this weekend."
